Fathom Entertainment revealed a brand new trailer for the theatrical release of 2025 The dark crystalthe iconic fantasy adventure brought to life by Jim Henson AND Frank Oz.
Released for the first time in 1982, this visionary film led by puppets has become a favorite of worship for cinema fanatics in the 80s, and is now returning to the big screen for a limited race.
This special event is part of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Jim Henson Company. Each screening will include an introduction from Brian HensonJim Henson’s son and the current president of the Henson Company board of directors.
Fans will be able to experience the revolutionary film in the way it was originally intended, with all its incredible puppeteer, practical effects and a splendid design of bigger creatures of life once again.
The original story follows Jen and Kira, the last surviving members of the Gelfling tribe, while they undertake a dangerous research to restore balance in their world. Their journey takes them face to face with the left Skeksis and other mystical beings through the land of Thra. The film played Stephen Garlick, Lisa Maxwell, Billie Whitelaw and Percy Edwards.
