Director Shawn Levy I just gave fans their new look out Lucasfilm Project Star Wars: StarfighterAnd he is already unleashing some funny comparisons.
The director shared a photo behind the scenes on Instagram with Ryan Gosling and newcomer Flynn Gray On the set, turn somewhere in the Mediterranean Sea. The shot has such a wild and oceanic aesthetic that it is difficult not to obtain Waterworld vibrations from it.
“Somewhere in the Mediterranean Sea #starfigher,” wrote the director of Deadpool & Wolverine on his Instagram.
The details on the story are still held under the compresses. What we know is that this is “an autonomous adventure” and “a completely original story set in a period of time never explored first in Star Wars”.
It is already an exciting perspective for the fans who were waiting for Lucasfilm to expand beyond the time sequence of Skywalker.
Even like this, reports suggest that the film will take place five years later Star Wars: episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker. Gosling is said to play a Jedi by training his nephew like Padawan, and since their bond will be fundamental for the film, their relationship should guide a large part of the story.

Before Starfighter Arrives, fans will be treated The Mandalorian and the Goguwhich is scheduled for release on May 22, 2026. This means weekend of the full back-to-back memorial Star Wars on the big screen.
