Ryan Reynolds He is a producer of the next documentary John Candy: I like itwhich is directed by Colin Hanksand explores the life and career of the deceased, great comic actor John Candy.
The actor was known for creating adorable and exhilarating characters who stood with all of us for decades. But there is a role that despite satisfying the criteria of a classic comedy, cuts a little deeper than the others.
While participating in the Press Conference of the Toronto International Film Festival for John Candy: I like itBefore the October premiere, Reynolds spoke of which of Candy’s roles would have obtained an Oscar nomination if he had come out today.
Chose the 1987 classic Planes, trains and cars:
“John has had a way for him who really brought together people and still does it to date. I look at planes, trains and cars and that performance by Del Griffith. I think this would have been appointed for an Oscaring Award if this had come out at this moment today, in this age.”
That film is where the title of the documentary comes from, “I like me”, and is the monologue in which the candies say that a little is really the heart of the film. That film is fun and embarrassing, heartbreaking and beautiful, and I couldn’t agree anymore.
Planes, trains and cars It is a thanksgiving classic and one who can’t wait to revisit.
John Candy: I like it It will be available for streaming on Prime on October 10th.
