James Gunn reveals that his first choice for Paciferatore was Dave Bautista

When Suicide The theaters in 2021, the fans were introduced to one of the most unexpected Breakout characters of the DC range … Peacemaker, brought to life by John dinner. But according to the writer-regista James GunnDinner was not originally destined to wear shiny chromatic helmet.

During a recent chat on Howard Stern Show, Gunn revealed that the role was offered for the first time Dave Bautistabetter known by Marvel fans as Drax in Guardians of the galaxy Movies.

“I wrote the character of Peacemaker for him and we offered him the role, but he was offered two films and we were not paying him much, so he had to go where the money was.”

While Bautista went on, Gunn quickly found his perfect game at dinner. The director admitted that he was already hit by him by Trainwreck.

“I’ve always been a John fan [Cena] Since Trainwreck, in particular, I thought it was so fun in that film.

“I met him, we talked, we became instant and instant friends and since then, you know, I worked with him more than any other actor because I did two seasons of Peacemaker, Suicide Squad, and you know that we will do more together.

“So, he is a fantastic boy, a fantastic actor. Really, I think I love the peace show more than anything else I have ever done.”
