Richard Linklater’s full trailer for Nouvelle Vague explores the creation of Godard’s Breathless

Netflix released the complete trailer for Richard LinklaterIt is new movie Nouvelle vagueAn elegant tribute to the revolutionary new French wave. After being previewed at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, the black and white drama is currently making the festival rounds in Tiff and Nyff before opening this autumn in cinemas.

Filmed entirely in French, the film dives into the story behind Jean-Luc Godard”Revolutionary classic of 1960 Breathless And it also reflects the same playful and free spirit energy that defined Godard’s original work.

The Logline recites: “A film by a Richard Linklater. This is the story of Godard who is breathless, told in the style and spirit in which Godard made breathless in 1960”.

Linklater has launched fresh faces to capture the spirit of young artists who break cinematographic rules in the 1960s. Make his debut in his feature film, Guillaume Marbeck steps in the role of Godard, while Zoey Deutch He portrays Jean Seberg alongside Aubry Opatin Like Jean-Paul Belmondo.
