HBO officially set the date of the premiere IT: Welcome to Derrythe imminent series of prequel horror that expands the terrifying universe of Stephen King’s It. The nine episodes series will debut on October 26 on HBO and streaming on HBO Max.
Set decades before the events of the IT films, IT: Welcome to Derry He dives into the disturbing origins of Pennywise the clown. Yes, Bill Skarsgård has returned to resuming his chilling role of iconic entity that changes shape.
The synopsis reads: “set in the world of Stephen King It universe, the show is based on the king It novel. The vision established by the director Andy Muschietti expands in the films It AND Chapter two. “
The prequel is set in 1962 and makes a profound immersion in Derry’s dark history, intertwining many of the disturbing interludes of King’s novel.
“It is a story based on the interlude of the book,” Muschietti has previously shared. “They speak of catastrophic events of the past, such as fire in the black spot, the massacre of the Bradley band … and the explosion of the Kitchener Ironworks.”
Together with Skarsgård, the cast includes Jovan Madness, Chris Chalk, Taylour Paige, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, Kimberly Norris Guerrero, Dorian Gray, Thomas Mitchell, Peter Outerbridge, Joshua OdjickAND Rudy Mancuso.
IT: Welcome to Derry was created by Andy AND Barbara Muschiettiwhich also act as executive producers alongside Jason Fuchs AND Brad Caleb Kanewho are managing the duties of showrunner.

This prequel seems that it will offer a twisted and terrifying dive in the past infested with Derry, revealing how long Pennywise has fed on the fear of the city. With Halloween just around the corner, timing is perfect.
