In a recent interview with Variety, Tatum explained:
“I won’t go in the middle of Cajun. [Directors Anthony and Joe Russo] I want things to be fun, but they don’t want to become full “Deadpool”. They want to keep the drama and keep it tight. When Gambit becomes serious – when it drops the MARDI GRAS mask – things Do question.”
Tatum previously said to Access Hollywood that his game accent in Deadpool and Wolverine It was intentional, explaining:
“There has been very little improvisation. The Cajun dialect is very particular. I grew up in Mississippi and my father is in New Orleans. So it is one of those things that grew around it, but I never did it. There are some small Isms that are very cajun-y, but in reality we meant in some way not interactable. It was a kind of joke. [Ryan would] Come to be and say: “I don’t want to know anything you’re saying about this [take]’So I just composed it to the end. And then others that is like “okay, I have to understand what you are saying now.”
The plot of Gambit in Avengers: Doomsday It remains under the compresses. But he clearly has the combat scenes, since Tatum also revealed to the variety of having suffered an accident on the set that led to him to take painkille drugs and will require intensive physical therapy. He had to be put aside by some action scenes due to the accident, instead sitting for the close -ups of his face while relying on his double acrobatics to make heavy lifting.
