It seems that Archie Andrews is returning to the spotlight in style. According to The Supporter, a new Archie film is currently being developed at Universal. The project has a strong attached talent, with Spider-Man: in the spider-Versetto minds Phil Lord AND Chris Miller producing alongside Emma Watts AND Jon Goldwater. The script was written by Tom Kingbetter known for his work on Supergirl.
“Sources say that the film will be inspired, in part, by the comic Archie: The Spose Life, who presents Archie with two alternative future-one in which he marries the girl-New-Porta Betty Cooper and one in which he marries the sexy heir Veronica Lodge.”
Originally created in 1941 by John L. Goldwater, Bob MontanaAND Vic BloomArchie was a pillar in pop culture for decades. But this new film seems ready to explore a more mature and emotionally complex territory than the vibrations of the soap opera for Riverdale’s teenagers.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasawhich was showrunner on Riverdale and also wrote the The afterlife with Archie Comic will return as a showrunner for the series. Sneider adds that the show will be developed over the next year “with the aim of obtaining it green by next summer”.
