In a similar alternative time sequence, the sensitivity to Finn’s strength and its complicated past with the first order could have set it up on a collision course with Rey. This would actually create an interesting dynamic.
Instead, Finn’s connection has not been made explicit up to Star Wars: episode IX – The Rise of SkywalkerAnd even then, he never talked to Rey of his strength skills and remained firmly on the side of the resistance.
As for Finn’s future in the Galaxy very, far away, nothing is officially on the horizon. Boyega has not been confirmed for any imminent Star Wars Projects, but Rey will return to a new without title. If this opens the doors to Finn’s return, it is something that fans will seek.
