John Boyega once thought that Finn and Rey would become rivals of Star Wars like Obi-Wan and Darth Vader

THE Star Wars The sequel trilogy could have taken a much more dramatic turning point than we got, at least in John Boyegamind. The actor recently revealed that after reading the Star Wars: episode VII – The Force Awakens Script, he thought that Finn’s story would lead to an epic rend-yield with Rey, echoing the legendary rivalry between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader.

“I think I thought it was sensitive to the force from the script of the Awakens force, or at least when I reached the end of the script of the Awakens force. I thought they were planning the double Jis.

“In reality I thought they would have some Obi-Wan and Darth.

Fans met Finn for the first time as Stormtrooper defect The force awakenswhere it quickly became an ally Daisy RidleyRey in the fight against Kylo Ren. From the beginning there were thin hints that Finn was sensitive to strength, like the moment in which a laser sword in the climax of the film brandies, which fueled the speculation that his path could reflect that of other heroes fallen in the saga.

The comparison with the fall of Anakin Skywalker makes sense. Trained by Obi-Wan to bring balance to the strength, Anakin instead embraced the dark side and lit his mentor to become Darth Vader.

In a similar alternative time sequence, the sensitivity to Finn’s strength and its complicated past with the first order could have set it up on a collision course with Rey. This would actually create an interesting dynamic.

Instead, Finn’s connection has not been made explicit up to Star Wars: episode IX – The Rise of SkywalkerAnd even then, he never talked to Rey of his strength skills and remained firmly on the side of the resistance.

As for Finn’s future in the Galaxy very, far away, nothing is officially on the horizon. Boyega has not been confirmed for any imminent Star Wars Projects, but Rey will return to a new without title. If this opens the doors to Finn’s return, it is something that fans will seek.
