The director of weapons makes fun of the secret cast and wild twists – “I probably shouldn’t even say it”

Zach Cregger He knows how to extract the carpet from under the public. After Barbaric The blind spectators with its unpredictable structure and grotesque surprises, the next horror output of Cregger, WeaponsIt promises to be ambitious and even more secret.

In a recent interview with the magazine SFX, the director has made fun of what is coming to his next film, saying:

“I have to be so attentive to the spoilers, but here’s what I will say. This film has multiple stage shots of the barbarian, but what does not intentionally do, is that I will never abandon the audience.”

Marketing for WeaponsFrom his threatening teaser to disturbing posters, he was intentionally cryptic. The story revolves around a small town where everyone except a child of the same class mysteriously disappears on the same night exactly at the same time, leaving the city agitated and taking the answers.

But if you think the mystery ends here, think about it. According to Cregger, what we have seen so far scratch the surface barely.

“There are a couple of names that are not in the announcement of the cast, and there are a couple [actors] That I think people have not understood what their characters are.

“It’s fantastic, and I probably shouldn’t even say it, but there are some actors who … it is incredible what they do … there are seven main characters in this film and in the trailer, we are leaning on two of those. But there are really seven main characters.”

Well, it’s interesting! I also love the fact that what we have seen from the trailers gives us the indispensable minimum of what this film entails and I can’t wait to see how this dark horror story takes place.

The announced cast already includes heavy beats such as Josh Brolin, Julia GarnerAND Alden Ehrenreichnext to Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict WongAND Amy Madigan. But Cregger intentionally hides other important players.

And just like with the barbarian, the trailer could be a masterclass in a bad direction. Cregger explains:

“The engine of children at the start is the engine of the entire film, but the mystery is not the engine of the entire film.”

So there is a much bigger narrative that hides under the surface. This movie will become really interesting!

Weapons It opens in cinemas on August 8 and if the words of cregger are indicative, this will be a wild and full of secret race.
