Nicholas Hoult explains why his lex Luthor Odia Superman

When it comes to the rivalry of iconic superheroes, few are strongly defined as Superman and Lex Luthor. It is strength against intelligent, divine alien power against human paranoia and hope against control. Nicholas Hault He is entering the expensive Lex shoes to bring an incredibly unnerved version of the character from what Superman represents.

CinemaBlend spoke with Hoult to immerse himself in one of the most brain bad guys in the history of comics, and clarified that this is not the cartoon Luthor, his version is elegant, dangerous and thinks he is the hero of history.

“It is more a technological billionaire. One of the things you appreciate – probably very enough, and you will see throughout the film – is this public image of how people see it. He managed to keep his most nefarious tactic hidden, so that it seems to be someone who is only there forever.”

That mask of philanthropy, of course, hides the familiar resentment in the shape of a lex of the existence of Superman. Hoult explained that this distrust, this fear, is cooked in history by the jump.

To the question about how the Superman The film frames their rivalry, said Hoult:

“One of the things I loved most about the script the first time I read it is that you have already thrown in the middle of a completely developed world and history.

“So these characters have already existed in this universe and you are playing a bit as a member of the public for what is the tradition and what you are dealing with.

“With Lex, this is this thing, has already developed or conceived all these plans on how to defeat Superman, and you are playing to recover in terms of what is at stake and they got married in front of you. So it’s a bit where you meet him.”

But it is interesting to note that he and Superman did not even make face to face when the story begins. Their conflict cleared before it boils. Hoult continued:

“They are aware of each other, but I don’t think they necessarily met in person. But lex … one of the things I really love this version of Lex is that all his beliefs and fears are what they push him, but for a certain sense, that push is real.

“And what is tired of with what Superman represents is something that could be a real danger and a threat to humanity. So in a sense, that was something I really liked … They are his beliefs, and almost his love for humanity, the protection and belief in this idea that they should be masters of their destiny and their destiny is important for him.

“The rest of the society has fallen into this path of trust on Superman, believing in Superman and giving him what Lex would see how all power and freedom. So is it how, ‘where jurisdiction, law and protection of humanity arrive?'”

It is a strata grip that adds complexity to the reasons for the villain. Hoault’s lex is affected by the surrender of human autonomy to someone who sees as an uncontrolled God.

With James Gunn By directing and creating a DC world completely made already in motion, Hoult’s performance promises to be a culminating point and if the film attacks the landing, this lex could bear the top tip with the big ones.
