It could be the time for Marvel fans to start rethinking their expectations for the X-MenDebut MCU. A new item is shaking things suggesting that the restart will not focus on magnet as the main villain.
Marvel could retain their most iconic bad mutant in favor of some spotlights for some time on other important bad ones.
The scoop comes from the insider Alex Perez during a recent question of questions and answers on discord through the cosmic circus, and if it appears to be true, we have committed ourselves to something very different.
According to Perez, the X-Men restart of the MCU will introduce three primary antagonists: Mister Sinister, Senator Robert Kelly and Bolivar Trask. All three of these names should play a bell if you are fameliar with comics or even the previous Fox X-Men films.
Let’s start with Senator Robert Kelly. In the comics and in the 2000s X-MenIt is a politician who imposing the fear that builds his career by feeding the fear of mutants. While in the end the Fox Films gave him an arc of redemption, a reinvented MCU version could be stronger in his role as a symbol of institutional oppression.
Imagine working alongside Bolivar Trask, the scientist responsible for creating the sentinels: large mutants hunting machines with important dystopian vibrations. Peter Dinklage played in trap in Days of the future pastBut there is much more to explore there.
Then there is Mister Sinister, aka Nathaniel Essex. Sinister was made fun of in the X-Men Film franchise, he never showed up. He is a centuries -old geneticist obsessed with perfection, a master of puppets who pulls the ropes behind the scenes of mutant history. Fans have hoped for some time Mad Men‘S Jon Hamm assume the role. It would be nice if this finally happened.
Avengers: Doomsday will be present Ian McKellen resuming his magnet one last time. But that film marks the end of the Multiverse saga, eliminating the path for an X-Men Fresh era.
Magneto had time to shine. Between McKellen and Fassbender, the public knows him well. So it makes sense that Marvel can let him sit down, or at least move him to the side, for now. Giving Mister Sinister, Kelly and Trask Center Stage offers the opportunity to explore fresh and socially relevant conflicts.
The restart of the Marvel X-Men does not yet have a release date, but I would like to see the film immersing yourself in the deepest corners, stranger and more claims of mutants.
