The retro trailer of this week is for the 1986 horror film Night of the Creeps, which comes Fred Dekker (The Monster Squad, home). This is a gloriously strange mash-up of the horror of science fiction and teenage comedy of the 80s who wears his heart B-Movie on the sleeve.
The story follows two college freshmen who involuntarily trigger an alien parasite that transforms people into creatures similar to zombies. What begins as a search to impress the girls quickly in an invasion full of snails that snap for the body, with a former infested policeman (played by the legend of the genre Tom Atkins) Turn on with reluctance to help clean up the mess.
This thing is partly characteristic of the creature, partly detective noir and partly John Hughes Flick … with flamethrower. What Night of the Creeps So loved by the fans of the cult film is what he leans on his love for Horror tropes while he still feels fresh and self -conscious.
Dekker fills the film with an intelligent nod to classical horror, the names of the characters like Cronenberg and Romero are only the beginning and inject everything with a sense of foolish and bloody fun.
The practical effects are sticky and satisfactory, the one-liners are fantastic, and everything seems to be done by a geek horror for horror fanatics.
