Andor’s fans say the show reformulates an important moment Cassian and Jyn in Rogue One

“Andor really increased the depth and meaning of everything he touches.”

Here’s how Star Wars Fans are describing the emotional chain effect Andor he had in the whole galaxy, especially when it comes to a key moment Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Rewatching the film after Andor Season 2 was a revelation for many, launching old scenes in a much heavier new light.

In particular, fans indicate the moment when Jyn Erso faces Cassian Andor aboard the stolen imperial ship after fleeing Eadu.

It is the warmth of the moment, his father Galen has just died in his arms and he is furious to learn that Cassian has been sent to assassinate him. But now, through Andor’s goal, this clash hits differently. A fan published on Reddit:

“Revealing Rogue One for the first time since they finished Andor S2. The scene in which they escape to Eadu in the stolen imperial ship and Jyn faces Cassian on his father’s death we read so different from me with the context of the show. Before I thought that Cassian was in the wrong and his indignation to Jyn’s accusations has proven to be further that.

“But now it seems that Jyn is naive, and Cassian has just crossed the few more intense days of his years as a rebel, and he had it. Both partly well and both a little wrong. But Cassian in particular sacrificed too much at this point to be lectable, not when the blows are so big. Anyway.

This movement in perspective seems to be widely shared. Another fan interrupted:

“I had a similar reaction in reviewing the rogue one after Andor. His speech helped me to see how our experiences shape the way we feel the moments.

“This is what made Cassian so mysterious about the clock that I am thinking: what had he lost, what weight was transporting? At the beginning, it seemed that Jyn had the darkest past, but Andor shows that the empire takes from everyone.”

This was one of the most beautiful things AndorHis ability to shade in the corners of rebellion and give emotional weight to the politician.

Reddit’s same thread also underlines how both Jyn and Cassian share similar trajectories, despite coming from different worlds.

“Basically Jyn crosses a condensed arc of character who is the same as Cassian, Aka who wants to avoid rebellion before realizing that he has no other choice than fighting.”

Another agreed:

“This is one of my favorite parts of Ro and Andor. That Jyn and Cassian have crossed a similar journey. Makes Ro even better for me.”

Andor has not only deepened the story of Cassian, he is a retroactively high rogue. The choices, the trauma, the urgency, everything brings a more clear advantage now that fans know what happened before.

All the episodes of the season 2 Andor are now streaming on Disney+. So if you don’t already have it … it could be the time for a Rogue One Rewatch. Just don’t be surprised if this time it affects you a little stronger.
