Madame Web He firmly cemented himself as a disaster of a comic film. With a 12%Tomatoes Rotten score, gross all over the world just over $ 100 million and more memes than fans, he has not exactly attacked the landing.
Dakota JohnsonThe face of the chaos of the film recently made an interview with the Los Angeles Times and when he was asked about the flop. His answer? An acute laugh and:
“It wasn’t my fault.”
He continued to elaborate:
“There is this thing that happens now when many creative decisions are made by the Committee. Or taken from people who do not have a creative bone in their body.
“And it is really difficult to make art in that way. Or do something funny in that way. And unfortunately I think with Madame Web, it started as something and has turned into something else.”
That “something else” ended up being a confused mess of plot thread in half a cooked, bad dialogues and spider women without almost no spider. Johnson, who played Cassandra Webb, became the reluctant symbol of a film that has never had a chance.
Despite a cast that included Sydney Sweeney AND Isabela MercedThe film looked like a product assembled in a meeting room with list points instead of a story. She added:
“At that point I was only for the race. But this happens. The biggest budget movies fail all the time. I don’t have a patch on it.
“There is no part of me who is like” oh, I will never do it again “to anything. I also made small films that have not done well. Who does it matter to?”
Madame Web Once it was said that he had ties to the wider Marvel cinema universe, perhaps characterized by a young Peter Parker under the protection of Cassandra and Spider women. Instead, the audience got a vague prequel with an pregnant Mary Parker whose plot did not go anywhere and a plot that seemed to have been destroyed in a multival blender.
So what really happened? Study interference. Creative for commission. A gender machine that tries to engineer another blow without understanding why the good people work.
Dakota Johnson may not have escaped the unknown wreck, but at least she is honest for the race and ready to go on.
