If you are one of the many fans who have guided the emotional Russian mountains of Constantine 2 Updates over the years, you may want to prepare yourself again because things do not go exactly without hitches behind the scenes.
Actor Peter stormyWhich notoriously played Lucifer in the 2005 cult classic, recently shed light on what is happening with the sequel … and it seems how Keanu Reeves It is not electrified by what she is seeing.
While promoting his latest project Endure your locationAn update on storm was asked Constantine 2And he did not reveal the situation.
“It’s a lot of and backwards, because … I think Keanu [Reeves]that I know quite well, it is not so happy with the scripts and usually what comes out of the studies … ”
That performance from Reeves means protecting the soul of the film. According to Storcare, Reeves has a clear vision for what Constantine 2 it should be:
“I think Keanu says,” I did John Wick. This film is spiritual. These are normal demons and people. And I wanted to keep it that way. “And we talked about it … I think Keanu wants to make a sequel that is very close to the first.”
That first film, directed by Francis LawrenceIt was not a great success outside the gate. It was dark, strange, spiritual and a lot of his things. But over time, he found his audience, one who appreciated a dirty and soir world of noir in which angels and demons fought on souls, and the hero was an exorcist who smokes chain with one foot in the tomb.
“The first was not so successful at the beginning. It became a sleep and has become a cult film, and now it is one of the greatest cult films ever.
“But to make a sequel, the studies want to have, you know, the cars flying in the air. They want to have people who make flip flops and fight action scenes.”
Storma has not read the latest scripts alone, all this comes directly from the conversations with Reeves. But from the sound of it, both actors agree that the attempt to turn Constantine 2 In a shiver in Marvel style he would kill everything that has made the original special.
“He turns into an action movie and does not like going more and more to the characters. I think he [Keanu] He wants to make this character again, Constantine, sick as he was in the first.
“It took a long time to become a cult movie, it really worked and it will work again on the public. You don’t have to add a lot of action and shootings. You have other films.
“Don’t turn it into great wonder … [Don’t turn it] In us flying around harnessing all the time and shooting each other. Do not bring the big guns. Let it be.”
Lawrence, the director behind the original, seems to be on the same page. In the past he recorded that if they are doing a sequel, they want to do it in their own way, and this time they are even darker and deeper.
“I certainly think there is a greater fan base and it certainly has become a kind of classic of worship, which has been really exciting to see and very strange, but it is something we have always loved …
“I would say more than all my other films, Costantino was something that I felt really worthy of a sequel. There is a world that you can really explore and there is a character that we certainly loved and really wanted to explore …
“So we are like, ‘Fk, let’s go to make a sequel and really make a R-RAD movie. Give us a R, let’s make a real movie to R.'”
Then where this goes leaves Constantine 2? Still in development, for now. But it is clear that if Reeves returns, he is doing it only under the right conditions, and this is reassuring because the last thing we need is another carefree restart that forgets what has made the original question first.
