Yellowjackets gets a renewal of the fourth season

Showtime is finally renewed Yellow jackets For season 4. The announcement comes after season 3 wrapped last month with the type of cliffhanger that we all want to see solved.

Second Paramount Executive Chris McCarthy, Yellow jackets Florent and shared in a declaration:

“Yellowjackets has become a cultural Juggernaut, with the third season that broke all the previous records: we are excited to announce its renewal for a four season on Paramount+.

“Ashley [Lyle] and Bart [Nickerson] They masterfully created an absolutely singular phenomenon and that challenges the genre: a perfect alchemy of psychological horror, survival thriller and drama of maturity that continues to fascinate the public all over the world, brought to life by our extraordinarily talented and beloved cast. “

Season 3 has reached a new maximum, attracting over 3 million viewers in its first week and to date has seen the greatest involvement of the show social media.

The series should work for five seasons, a roadmap that the creators have mentioned more than once. But it has never been put in stone. In 2022, co-creator Ashley Lyle That while they had a five -seasons structure in mind, their true priority was to know when they would be able to land history satisfactorily.

This flexibility could actually work in favor of the show. After the main developments of the third season, there is a growing sense that the story can end before, if necessary. Some big questions have answered.

Others, as if the horrors of the show are rooted in the supernatural or purely psychological, may never be explained definitively. And that’s okay. Not all mysteries need an explanation, but some fans certainly would like it.

However, with season 4 officially coming, the creators continue to play in their wild sandbox. I love this show and can’t wait to see how it continues to do.

Yellowjackets is now streaming on Paramount+. Season 4 does not yet have a release date … but it is coming.
