After the accidental road that Daredevil: born again Season 1 took to reach the screens, complete with rewrites, filming and some polarizing narrative decisions, Charlie Cox He is trying a wave of relief.
Speaking with TVLine at the Disney upfronts, COX admitted that the fans’ reaction to the first season was more intense than it expected.
“It is different, we also did some things in that first season that fans may not be too happy,” he said, recognizing the mixed welcome.
Wasn’t a moment particularly fond? Episode 5. “I don’t believe in a banking robbery in 2025,” Cox said. “It wasn’t necessarily my favorite, but it shows that you can never say what people will want.”
But things are going on. Season 2 is already halfway through filming and Cox states that the tone is darker, more tricky and more accused of political pressure, which is exactly the type of material fans associated with the classic Daredevil.
“We are experiencing in a very oppressive and claustrophobic New York,” Cox explained. “You are afraid of being out, to be seen … you cannot express your concerns, your desire for change … it is a very French resistance.”
One of the most interesting updates is that Deborah Ann WollThe Karen page has returned much bigger way. After appearing only briefly in the first season, Cox promised fans, “much more” Karen in the next season. And his reaction to that return? “That’s better.”
Cox has also made fun of that this is not only more time on the screen, it is an impact on the screen. “Some of the things he is doing are some of the most beautiful things I’ve ever had,” he said, also comparing it with his entire arch through the original episodes of the Netflix series. “It’s fantastic this season.”
With a return defender, Jessica Jones, in the mix, the mayor Fisk transforms the city into a pressure cooker and Karen Page who makes again in the spotlight, I am excited to see which season 2 is about to deliver!
