Thunderbolts director reveals the intense character of “Room of shame” cut by the film

Marvel’s Thunderbolts* They pack a lot of action and emotional weight, especially in his final act in which things become a little metaphysical. But according to the director Jake Schreiersome of the moments of the character of the film of the film, especially from Emptiness Sequence, never arrived on the screen.

In the film, Yelena, American agent and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine physically interact with Bob (Aka the Sentry) and are dragged into their “shame rooms”, which are psychological spaces that force them to relive their darker and more painful memories.

The concept is intensified later when Yelena enters the void, where we briefly enjoy the buried memories and trauma … but only her and the sentinels have a real time on the screen.

Whichiles in contact with the variety, Schreier confirmed that the rest of the team’s trips through the void has actually been written and storyboard. They were ready to leave, but in the end, left on the floor of the cutting room. The decision was made to hit the emotional climax of the film around the internal battle of Bob rather than crowd it with too many wires in competition.

When he talked about what was planned, Schreier revealed:

“We had Alexei in the gulag, I think, having been thrown in there. I believe that Ghost was his time in the orphanage, and being this girl that no one wanted to be around – to be able to be invisible and see the way you are perceived and nobody who wanted to associate you felt very sad.”

It looks like another great scene for Ghost, a character who is already going through attacks of solitude and struggle. As for the moment of Bucky “

“We had many different Bucky. We always wanted to do something less than the expected idea. There are some very obvious things for Bucky, but at a certain point I think Joanna wrote something at a shameful moment in the field of Boy Scout. But I don’t know that it would really be the right way for this.”

It is a look at the type of narration based on the character that the cast was helping in shape behind the scenes. Schreier praised the actors to remain tuned to the emotional truths of their characters.

“This is the beautiful thing with the job with these actors. They are thus invested and caring tutors of their characters and arches who will make you know something false or it is not right for them.”

While the final cut leaning against Bob’s internal war and the enormous implications of EmptinessIt seems that Marvel fans were just a few pages of storyboard from a series of moments that define the character who could have made the ending even more emotionally loaded.

Would you like to see those scenes deleted in cutting a director?
