AMC launches a series of anthological great American stories with Ira grape as the first chapter

AMC is throwing him to his roots by leaning against the “American” part of the classics of American cinema with a new series of anthologies entitled Great American stories.

Each season of the series will highlight a milestone of American culture, from iconic novels to the definition of historical moments. John Steinbeck The grape of anger will start the project.

The project was developed by AMC Studios and is positioned as a long -term franchise game for the network. Dan McDermott, President of Entertainment and AMC Studios of Ams Networks shared:

“For more than a year we have looked for the perfect story to launch our next great television franchise and we found it in The grape of angerWhich is timely and relevant today as it was when it was published for the first time in 1939.

“Our country is built on so many unforgettable historical and dramatic moments, stories of courage and courage, classic novels, tales and well -known chronicles and never more intertwined. Like a network that has started his life as American cinema classics, this is the franchise that we are destined to bring to the screen.”

The adaptation of The grape of anger will be guided by Interview with the vampire showrunner Rolin JonesWho is ready to guide the series creatively. Each new season will take on a different story, with new teams brought on board, under Jones’ vigilant eyes and producer Mark Johnson.

Jones described the series with the type of metaphor of blue collars, saying: “We are thinking Great American stories Like one of those resolved car factories in Michigan – Porta Visionary Creators, give them a assembly chain of individual talents to build the thing, deliver them the keys and get out of the way.

“This is the great, audacious and silra turning of Dan McDermott to Ams. Have it to launch a beauty from the factory floor every year. I hope I never have another job for the rest of my career.”

As for the manufacturer Mark JohnsonHe said: “I have never heard more professional pressure than in accepting this challenge to help translate some legendary American stories on the television screen. I am absolutely grateful to the AMC for this invitation and I am really in debt with Rolin for his trust in me. What a terrifying opportunity!”

With Great American storiesAMC aims to carve out a new legacy that honors the past as it reinvents it for a modern audience. This has great potential and I can’t wait to see how it appears.
