THE Black mirror The “Uss Callister” episode was a great success with fans as it was very funny to watch Jesse Plemons Canale an unbalanced version of Captain Kirk.
The episode of the fourth season of Emmy is widely considered one of the most inventive and stratified stories that anthology has ever told. So it is not surprising that it is the first Black mirror rane to obtain a sequel.
What surprises? How long we wanted to make it happen and how much it was almost different.
In a recent chat with the deadline, creator of the series Charlie Broocer Open on the road to “Uss Callister: in Infinity”, a follow-up along the length that descends with the seventh week next week. And apparently, the evolution of history was a bit of a saga.
“Of all the stories we did this ended as if we were preparing it for the sequel,” Brooker said. “He crossed various shapes but in the end we made the length of the season. It took so long by putting it together: we had the pandemic, the writers and then we had to align everyone’s timetables, and that was his Rubik cube on a single -sided.”
While the delays could have been frustrating, they also gave Broocer the time to play with bigger ideas. At some point, he took into consideration the expansion of USS Callister in an autonomous or even full -blown film.
In the end, the decision was made to keep it under the Black mirror Umbrella, but push the format, not only the universe.
The original episode ended with the evil Robert Daly (Plemons) who obtained exactly what he deserved, trapped in a state in coma in the real world while his digital victims obtained control of their virtual lives.
Since Dely died (or, more precisely, dead in the brain), it will not return. But almost all the others have returned: Cristin Milioti (Nanette Cole), Jimmi Simpson (Walton), Billy Magnussen (Valdack), Milanka Brooks (Elena), Osy Ikhile (Nate) e Paul G. Raymond (Dudani).
The new story resumes with their digital clones, now “blocked in an infinite virtual universe, fighting for survival against 30 million players”.
Regardless of how this story continues, I am only happy that we are receiving an episode of follow -up -Up!
Black mirror Seventh season and “Uss Callister: in Infinity”, they launch on April 10 on Netflix.
