During the presentation Lionsgate at Cinemacon, director Francis Lawrence He came out to present the first trailer for his next movie The long walkwhich is based on Stephen King’s Driver story with a nightmare!
We were there to watch the trailer and this film seems incredible and horrible. This of my favorite king stories and it seems that this film will do it justice.
The film is the protagonist Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson, Garrett Wareing, All nyuot, Charlie Plummer, Ben Wang, Roman Griffin Davis, Jordan Gonzalez, Josh Hamiltonwith Judy Greer, AND Mark Hamill.
The long walk It takes place in the future “in which 100 teenagers undertake an annual competition known as” The Long Walk “. The rules are simple: to maintain a speed greater than four miles per hour.
“The last one who walks gets everything he wants for the rest of his life. In these sad circumstances the boys develop deep friendships despite knowing that the survival of their friends is a threat on their own.”
This story is absolutely brutal and I wondered if the tone for the film, but it seems that the creative team is going to everything.
During an interview by Prevoius, the writer of the film, JT MollnerTake fun of that this film will become Hardcore while the creative team has made an effort to capture the darkness of King’s book.
Mollner said: “The grandiose thing of this is that Francis, this is a real … I mean, it is not a low budget film, but it is not so big of a budget on how you normally work with great franchises such as hunger games and things.
“So this is a real project of passion for him. He wanted to do it in the right way, a faithful way. And he knew that it meant that it would be a very hard, disturbing and in some way controversial film.
“And this is the film that I was interested in writing. Stephen King was also very busy and determined for Francis to make a film R, which honored the book and remained faithful to the book.”
He continued: “We haven’t really pulled any fist. Most of the things you remember to be hard to take in the book still exists. And there are some changes made to update it that I think they are intelligent … but I am very happy with adaptation as Stephen King’s fans.
“I am really happy with what we did with it. And even the notes in the studio that came and, and everyone’s feedback, everyone was on the same page regarding the brutality and seriousness of the book.”
I am happy to know that this cinematographic adaptation will be faithful to the book and that the creative team will not go away from some of the brutal and topic contents.
