“We haven’t just done a little in the casting.”
This is energy The last of us co-showrunner Craig Mazin is leading to season 2, and is particularly on Kaitlyn Deverwho is entering the role of Abby.
In a recent press event (through Gamesradar+), Mazin did not hold back his admiration for Dever’s commitment for the physically demanding role:
“Kaitlyn would never have said no. And it was fantastic. When you see how much physical – how physically – his performance is, it’s a little crazy. He did things that I’m not sure you should have to do. I don’t know how you did them.”
Dever, who was once in interviews to interpret Ellie when The last of us He was heading towards a cinematographic adaptation, he is now ready to play Abby, a game character who will grow in great style Joel and Ellie.
“We haven’t simply made the casting,” says Mazin. “Sooner or later, I think we will do it. But each of these guys, I can’t wait for you to see what they do and how they interact with each other.”
While the original version of Abby in the game was known for its muscle build, the creative team is intentionally shifting attention from the combination of the 1: 1 in live-action. AS Neil Druckmann previously explained:
“We need someone to really capture the essence of those characters … we don’t appreciate so much”, seem exactly like the character with eyebrows or their nose or their body? “Whatever it is.
The creative team has put together an electric cast and a creative team for this series that are clearly confident in every choice they have made and, like the first season, I’m sure The last of us Season 2 will offer the excellence of the narrative.
