Miles Teller (Top Gun: Maverick) is destined to play Star Italian Cycling Champion and Wwii Hero Gino Bartali In the next biographical film Bartali.
Bartali was “a famous Italian athlete and the most famous cyclist in Italy before the Second World War, having won both the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France.
“During the war, he used his fame to transport messages to Italian resistance, also helping Jews to be persecuted by the Nazis.
‘In 2010, it emerged that he had hidden a Jewish family in his cellar, saving his life. Bartali died in 2020, after winning the Giro d’Italia and the French tour after the war. “
The project comes from the free solo direction duo E. Chai Vasarhelyi AND Jimmy Chinwho won an Oscar for their documentary and carried out their first project scripted with Nyad.
The two will direct from a script of Karen Tenkhoff (The diaries of the motorcycle), which produces together with Vasarhelyi and Chin’s Little Monster Films.
