Love hurts It is strange. It has all the ingredients for a great action film with some really interesting combat scenes, some fun action and a cast that should be able to bring it, but something about it does not click.
The film is unique in its approach, but unique does not always mean well. There are funny moments, without a doubt, and some of the action sequences are impressive, but the story is so familiar and the embarrassing dialogue that never meets completely.
I was thrilled to watch this movie. Ke huy quan AND Ariana Debose They are both great actors who have fun watching in their films and I love to see how many playing driving roles. But I felt like I was watching an action movie directed to Vod.
The film focuses on a former real estate agent for Suburban which is dragged again in a violent past, and is a concept that has potential. But the way it is performed seems clumsy, as if the film cannot decide if it wants to be self -conscious or take yourself seriously.
When they are debose they do what they can with the material that is given, but are working with dialogues that often seem rigid and unnatural. There is a version of this film that works, but that’s not quite.
This is particularly surprising given the team behind it. With the producers they have delivered None, atomic blonde, violent night, AND The autumn boyYou would expect a sharp, elegant and well -pace thriller.
Instead, Love hurts It looks a little little cooked. Director for the first time Jojo EusebioAn experienced acrobatics coordinator clearly knows how to create actions, but the narration and work of the character do not hold their end of the agreement.
There are flashes of creativity with the combat sequences, but they are surrounded by a plot that we have seen a hundred times before.
I wanted me to like this movie more! The action is there, the cast is solid and there is an attempt of something interesting, but it does not lands. If you are looking for some senseless and well choreographed combat, Love hurts He has his moments. But if you hope for something that attacks with you, this fades quickly.
