Netflix published the first trailer for their next Los Angeles basketball series, Running point. The series is produced and developed by Mindy Kaling for WB Television and the great cast includes Kate Hudson, Brenda Song, Drew Tarver, Scott MacArthur, Fabrizio Guido, Toby Sandman, Chet Hanks, Jay Ellis, Max GreenfieldAND Justin Theroux.
The series is created and showrun from David Stassen (The Mindy project, WORLD HISTORY: Part II), with Stassen’s writing, Mindy Kaling, Ike barinholtz. The episodes are directed by James Ponsoldt (The spectacular now, The end of the tour, The circle). It is produced by Jordan Rambis; Made by Kaling International in association with Warner Bros. Television as part of his overall agreement. The series is produced by Kate Hudson, Howard Klein, Jeanie Buss, Linda Rambis.
The synopsis of the show reads:
“When a scandal forces his brother to resign, Isla Gordon (Kate Hudson) is appointed president of the Waves of Los Angeles, one of the most famous professional basketball franchises – and also his family business. Ambitious and often neglected, Isla will have to demonstrate to his skeptical brothers, the Council and the biggest sports community that was the right choice for work. From the Hitmaking team of Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz and David Stassen, Running Point put a bold turn on the loser comedy. ”
