During a question and answer on Thread, a fan asked Gunn if he crossed more choices than characters before settling in the final formation for the animated series. Gunn confirmed that he made and let some interesting names fall.
Gunn shared: “I certainly considered Wolfpack and, above all, Man-Bat (one of my favorites). But I knew I wanted to tell the story of Weastel, so it seemed to me about too many angry and blurred characters.
“I considered Vincent Velcoro but I wanted to choose a” creature “very outside the usual list from another part of DC, so I went instead with Dr. Phosphorus. I also considered Solomon Grundy, another favorite, but I was rather set on Frankenstein. “
It is a rather interesting range of characters that I would like to see the show giving life, especially Man-Bat!
In the meantime, Vincent Velcoro is a scientific vampire that was part of the Creature Commandos and Solomon Grundy is a super -branded zombies originally introduced as a villain of the green lantern.
Gunn’s reasoning for the drying of the characters makes sense because it wanted a variety of types of characters from different corners of the DC universe.
It would have been nice to see some of these characters presented in the series, but perhaps they will be used in another DC projects somewhere along the line.
