A trailer was released for the comedy The wedding banquetA modern remake of 1993 Ang Lee Film with the same name. The film is the protagonist Bowen Yang, Lily Gladstone, Kelly Marie Tran, Han gi-chan, Bobo le, Joan Chenand Oscar winner winner Youn Yuh-Jung. This updated version of the story is directed by the acclaimed American director Korean Andrew Ahn (Spa night, VISTADRIMI, Fire island), from a script co-scripted by Ahn and James Schamus.
The synopsis of the film stars: “An exuberant modern update on the romantic comic of Ang Lee of 1993 with the same name.
“Frustrated for her phobic boyfriend of commitment, Chris, and out of time, Min does a proposal: a wedding of green paper with her friend Angela in exchange for expensive in vitro fertilization treatments for her partner, Lee. The plans change when Min’s grandmother arrives and surprises them with an elaborate Korean wedding banquet. ”
The wedding banquet Just presented in preview at the Sundance Film Festival of 2025 in Great Reception, and will be available for viewing in theaters selected on April 18, 2025.
