Paramount Pictures has released the full cast list for the upcoming action fantasy adaptation of Children of blood and bonebased on Tomi Adeyemi’s best-selling novel.
The studio has cast the cast So Mbedu (The Woman King) as Zelie; Amanda Stenberg (The hate you give) like Amari; Damson Idris (Snowfall) as Inan; AND Tosin Cole (Supercell) like Tzain.
They will be joined by the Oscar winner Viola Davis (The Woman King) as Mama Agba; Cinzia Erivo (Evil) as Admiral Kaea; Idris Elba (Luther) as Lekan; Lashana Lynch (Bob Marley: a love) like Jumoke; AND Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) as King Saran.
In negotiations they are Oscar winners Queen King (Shirley) as Queen Nehanda; Diaana Babnicova (The Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot) in the role of Folake; AND Bukky Bakray (Rocks) like Binta.
The action fantasy novel follows heroine Zélie Adebola, who belongs to a class of magic practitioners known as maji, as she attempts to restore magic to the kingdom of Orïsha, following the brutal repression of her people by the ruling class kosidán.
The film is directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood (The Woman King, The Old Guard) and production will begin in South Africa in the coming weeks.
Children of blood and bone will be released January 15, 2027 in IMAX.
