HELLDIVERS 2 Creative Director Talks Studio’s Role in Film Adaptation and Explains Why They ‘Shouldn’t Have the Final Word’ on the Film

THE Helldivers 2 The film was announced last week and is officially in development, and fans of the franchise are curious to know how closely the adaptation will stick to the spirit of the game.

Johan Pilestedtthe creative director of Arrowhead Game Studios, recently addressed the question of the studio’s involvement in the project.

“I avoided this question. The short answer is yes. The long answer is we’ll see.”

He added: “We’re not Hollywood people and we don’t know what it takes to make a movie, so we don’t, and shouldn’t, have the final say.”

So while Arrowhead may have a say in the process, final creative control rests with Sony Pictures and Sony Productions, who are helming the project.

For fans hoping for strict adherence to the games, this could raise concerns, although it’s too early to make judgments. It depends on the creative team they bring in to develop the film.
