The list of CHAMPIONS of the Marvel Studios Young Avengers series project has been reported

Last year, it was reported that Marvel Studios had abandoned plans for them Young Avengers team film. Instead, the focus seems to have shifted towards assembling the Champions for a Disney+ series.

THE Young Avengers moment, as fans have long speculated, may have passed. Many actors who would fit the team’s roster are aging, and the disjointed early stages of the Marvel Multiverse Saga didn’t provide the necessary setup for their big debut.

It is said that the main reason for the transition from the film to the series was due to the poor box office performance of The Wonders. CEO of Disney Bob Iger stressed the importance of ensuring spin-offs meet audience expectations, while avoiding anything that would diminish the appeal of Marvel’s flagship franchise.

As for the rumors Champions lineup, the news comes from insider Daniel Richtman, who reports that the following heroes will lead the team:

  • Wicca (Joe Locke)

  • Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani)

  • Hawkeye (Hailee Steinfeld)

  • America Chávez (Xochitl Gomez)

  • Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton)

  • Iron heart (Dominique Thorne)

Noticeably absent is Eli Bradley, aka Patriot (Elijah Richardson), which was introduced in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. However, this does not necessarily exclude him or other major characters such as Amadeus Cho or Speed from future appearances.

Locke’s Wiccan made its debut in Agatha: Chaos Coven and is expected to continue alongside Kathryn Hahn in the second season of the series. Vellani was fantastic as Ms. Marvel, and her role as the team’s founder was teased during the final moments of The Wonders.

Kate Bishop from Steinfeld was fantastic Hawkeye, while Gomez’s America Chavez made her debut in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and would be a key player due to his multiverse-hopping abilities.

Thorne’s Riri Williams (Iron heart) made his MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and will star in her own series, while Newton has joined the franchise as Cassie Lang Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Noah Hawleythe creator of Fargo, Legionand the imminent Alien: Earth has met with Marvel Studios to potentially discuss writing and directing “several projects” and one of them includes this one Champions project.

Feige has teased this project in the past, saying Marvel has already planted the seeds for it. The biggest seed came at the end of The Marvels, when Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) goes to recruit Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld). He also mentions Cassie Lang in the scene.

Vellani previously spoke about the group’s future and possibilities, and how he believes the young Avengers/Champions will distinguish themselves from the originals:

“They have perspectives that the older Avengers don’t have, especially because they’ve had to deal with the repercussions, but they’re also fans of the older Avengers.

“So I think they can really make this team something new. I think it’s going to be a lot more functional than the Avengers were. I think Kamala being in charge could also set the tone in a really beautiful way. I think she’s a born leader.

“She’s not only the glue of Marvel, but she could be the glue of the younger Avengers team because she’s mature and intelligent, and she also has all this knowledge about being superheroes and teamwork and how to do it in a certain way. . It’s ideal and works for everyone.

“And he probably learned so much from working in the Marvels, so he can bring it to the Young Avengers. But yeah, I think they’re definitely going to be a group that younger audiences can connect with and relate to a lot more.

“I think their views on social justice issues, I think their views just on the world in general and what is needed is much more important.

“They feel like the group that’s going to understand humanity and the value of human life much more than I think the older group understands because they’re part of it, right? They have relationships there.

“They go to school, they have their friends, they have their idols and their mentors. And I think all of these relationships will anchor this group much more than we have mentors who are billionaires, and you have a guy frozen from the 1940s. So they are definitely much more aware of reality.

“People really love these Young Avengers, but I don’t even know if they really read those comics, not that they’re bad. The chemistry between Kamala, Miles [Morales]and Sam [Alexander]it’s too beautiful.

“I would love to see that trio in the MCU. None of these characters exist in live action yet, but I pray for that. Yes. I love Sam Alexander. One of their first interactions they had. Even when Sam tried to reveal his identity and Kamala said, “Stay away from me.” I love it.”

It will be interesting to see how their MCU iteration evolves.
