AS Friday night lights As fans prepare for the Peacock reboot, one question has been whether any familiar faces from the original series might appear.
Taylor Kitschwho played the role of Tim Riggins on the beloved NBC drama, recently shed light on the issue during an interview on SiriusXM’s The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw.
When asked about his involvement in the reboot, Kitsch confirmed, “I’ve been asked and we’ll leave things as they are.” While fans may be hoping for a substantial return, the actor has made it clear that he’s not looking to lead the revival.
Instead, he expressed interest in a more modest role, saying, “Maybe come in and do something…maybe for an episode or something.”
When you ponder the idea of returning to the Friday night lights universe, Kitsch acknowledged the difficulty of playing an entirely new character, saying:
“I think if you saw me as someone else, you’d say, That’s Riggins.” However, he mentioned the idea of a brief cameo, suggesting that he could play “the coach of an opposing team or something and be on screen for like eight seconds. I would.

The new take on the series centers on a high school football team dealing with the aftermath of a devastating hurricane, led by a damaged interim coach.

This isn’t the first time discussions of a revival have surfaced. In 2015, Kyle Chandlerwho won an Emmy for his role as Coach Eric Taylor, has firmly closed the door on returning to the series.
