Will Smith teases a possible MATRIX project

Will Smith recently shared a video on his Instagram account teasing a possible thing Matrix project. When you watch the video, you’ll understand why I think this is the case.

The cryptic message evokes a scene from the ’99s The Matrix. In the scene, computer programmer Neo (Keanu Reeves) wakes up to a message on his computer screen that says “Wake up, Neo…” followed by a typed message: “The Matrix has got you. Follow the white rabbit.

In the video below we read: “In 1997, the Wachowskis offered Will Smith the role of Neo The Matrix. Smith refused. He chose Wild Wild Westbelieving it was better suited to him at the time. But the question remains: what would happen? The Matrix Was it like with Will Smith as Neo? Wake up, Will… The Matrix has got you.”

As you know, after starring in a number of major blockbuster hits such as Bad boys, men in blackAND independence Daythe Wachowskis wanted Smith to star in The Matrix.

Smith had previously spoken about why he ended up turning down the project believing he couldn’t realize the vision of the film they wanted to make.

The actor explained what his meeting with the Wachowskis was like and how it ultimately led him to turn down the project:

“After they made Men in Black, the Wachowskis, they came in and they had only made one movie, I think it was called ‘Bound,’ and they made a pitch for The Matrix.

“Apparently, they are geniuses, but there is a fine line in an introduction meeting between a genius and what I experienced during the meeting.”

“This is the actual proposition they made for The Matrix. ‘Man, we’re thinking, imagine you’re in a fight, then you jump, imagine if you could stop jumping in the middle of the jump.'”

“Say it again?” Smith told them, and the Wachowskis continued: “’But then, people could see around you, 360 degrees, as you jump, as you stop jumping, right? And we’re going to invent these cameras so people can see the whole jump while you’re standing still in the middle of the jump.'”

He added: “Keanu was perfect. Laurence Fishburne it was perfect. If I had, because I’m black, then Morpheus wouldn’t have been black. They were watching Val Kilmer.

“I would have been Neo and Val Kilmer would have been Morpheus, so I probably would have messed up the Matrix. I would have ruined it. So I did you a favor.”
