VIOLENT NIGHT 2 will draw inspiration from westerns

Davide PortoSanta Claus is returning with a vengeance Violent night 2and it will be fun to see what happens to the brutal Christmas action hero.

Writers Pat Casey AND Josh Miller recently teased the direction and feel of the sequel, which included a surprising nod to Westerns.

During a conversation about their work on Sonic the Hedgehog 3Casey and Miller offered suggestions on the tone of Violent night 2. While keeping details under wraps, Miller revealed to Cinemablend:

“I think it will be very similar to the first one in the way people want it. But perhaps the only spoiler we can say is that it doesn’t reveal anything [is] if the first one drew a lot from a certain type of action film, for this one we try to draw a little inspiration from westerns. It won’t be a western, but [has] Some [Western] elements and themes of the story.”

The first film blended holiday cheer with bloody action, and this sequel seeks to add layers of classic Western storytelling. So, I guess we can expect to see stories of revenge, redemption, and reckoning intertwined in Santa’s next adventure.

Pat Casey also reassures that the sequel will include: “More violence, more Christmas spirit.”

I’m sure the writers will once again bring back the crazy mayhem and Christmas magic that made the first film such a fun film. But that doesn’t mean the sequel will necessarily take place during Santa’s busiest season. There is room for other creative scenarios.

The possible introduction of Mrs. Claus was brought up during the interview. In the first film, Santa’s significant other is referenced but never seen, and it would be interesting to see who would be cast in the role if they included her in the film.

Charlize Theron’s the name was suggested as a potential adaptation, but Miller kept the possible casting to himself:

“I hadn’t even thought about Winona [Ryder]. I mean, yeah, we can’t comment on the casting, and we probably shouldn’t even comment on whether or not she’s going to be in the movie.”

While Mrs. Claus’s inclusion remains uncertain, her potential involvement opens up another direction for the story, fans may want to see the sequel explore her dynamic with Harbor’s grizzled Santa Claus.

One thing we know for sure about the sequel is that Santa Claus has unfinished business and will be violent.
