I have a trailer here for you to watch for an inspiring documentary called Looking upwhich follows the story of a young blind man who accepts the challenge of climbing the most epic granite wall in the world, El Capitan in Yosemite.
The synopsis reads: “Diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, a rare and incurable genetic disease that gradually causes blindness over time, Eitan Armon discovered his condition while serving as a military sharpshooter.
“After receiving a medical discharge and with approximately 5% of his central vision remaining, Eitan decides to challenge himself and climb Yosemite’s daunting El Capitan.
“Refusing to be limited by his visual impairment, Eitan’s journey demonstrates that life has infinite possibilities for those who face it with positivity and resilience.
“In Looking upEitan lets go of everything he can’t control and focuses on what he can.”
I’m a big fan of climbing and outdoor docs and constantly watch them on YouTube. I love seeing people challenge themselves to achieve incredible feats, and it’s just one of those things that inspires me to push myself to be better.
Looking up is directed by Elena Neumann Lefkowitza producer making her directorial debut with the film set to hit theaters in early 2025.
