The web of intrigue around Spider-Man 4 continues to grow with new rumors that have emerged, and it looks like Peter Parker’s next adventure could be a very exciting and ambitious one.
According to the latest reports from Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider, the film may not only bring back Tom Hollandof Spider-Man, but they also see the inclusion of some heavy hitters like Daredevil, Punisher and even Mephisto.
Marvel fans have been hoping to see Daredevil and Spider-Man share the screen in their costumed glory and fight alongside each other, and perhaps that could finally happen.
Sneider suggests it Charlie Cox is expected to reprise his role as Matt Murdock, who briefly met Peter Parker No way home. While we’ve seen Murdock offer legal advice to Peter, fans are eager to get the full Daredevil experience alongside Spider-Man, fighting crime in New York.
Cox’s inclusion in Spider-Man 4 has been rumored for some time now and this report will definitely add to the excitement for fans.
Sneider’s report also hints at the return of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, aka the Punisher. Bernthal recently suited up for Marvel Daredevil: Born Againand his tough, gritty take on the character could add a compelling dynamic to the film.
The most surprising entry is the mention of Mephistowith the actor Sacha Baron Cohen reportedly in the mix to play the demonic villain. While one source disputes Cohen’s availability due to another project, the idea of Mephisto’s involvement raises eyebrows.
His involvement would lead Spider-Man into supernatural territory, which would be a surprising twist given that the film is said to focus on a more grounded narrative.
Other rumors suggest that symbiotes and even Knull, the god of symbiotes, could be connected to the story. While these details remain rumors, it is clear that Spider-Man 4 It’s shaping up to be a mix of street action and epic stakes.
It’s also been reported that Zendaya’s MJ, who is a key part of the trilogy’s emotional weight, may have a smaller role this time around. Sneider notes his busy schedule as a likely reason, but this change could also reflect a more Peter-centric story.
Insiders suggest that Marvel Studios Kevin Feige and that of Sony Tom Rothmann they discussed the direction of the film. Feige is reportedly pushing for a more intimate, grounded story, while Rothman wants to capitalize on that No way home frenzy bringing back Tobey Maguire AND Andrea Garfield for more action in the Multiverse.
For now, the film is said to mix elements of both approaches Spider-Man 4 described as an “Avengers-level event” keeping multiversal chaos under control.
The screenplay was written by No way home writers Chris McKenna AND Erik Sommerswith Destin Daniel Cretton set to lead. Spider-Man 4 release is scheduled for July 24, 2026 and Tom Holland has already expressed his commitment to ensuring that the sequel lives up to the legacy of the franchise.
When previously we talked about the film, about the producer Amy Pascal he said, “We’re starting to shoot the next Spider-Man movie with Destin Daniel Cretton. He’s a wonderful director. I love No Mercy, I love Short Term 12, I love Shang-Chi. I think he’s done a wonderful job.”
When it was brought up in the interview that Spider-Man: No Way Home seemed like the perfect send-off for Spider-Man, Pascal replied, “Well, we have to deal with the fact that he decided he was going to give up being Peter Parker.”
“And he would focus on being Spider-Man because being Peter Parker was too hard.” He joked, “That’s what the movie is about.”
