Sonic the Hedgehog 3 came out in theaters this week and Sonic the Hedgehog 4 it’s already announced! The fourth film in the series is officially moving forward, and the studio expects it to be ready for release in spring 2027.

Film number 3 is expected to beat Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King in its domestic opening, $60 million to $50 million+.
Original Films productions across two films have grossed more than $725 million worldwide, with global home entertainment spending of $180 million. Paramount+ also has a spin-off series, Knuckles.
The first Sonic the Hedgehog it opened before the pandemic hit in 2020 and reached $149 million domestically and $320 million worldwide. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 released in 2022 it grossed $191 million domestically and $405.4 million worldwide.
Sonic the Hedgehog is one of the few video game adaptations that worked at the box office, the other being Nintendo/Illumination Super Mario Bros. Movies The SEGA video game first debuted in 1991.
The previous two Sonics received a CinemaScores. Jeff Fowler he directed all three Sonics to hang out with Ben Schwartz playing hedgehog e Jim Carrey as Doctor Robotnik. The third part offers Carreys’ double with the star of the hit comedy playing Dr. Robotnik’s grandfather Keanu Reeves joining as the voice of Shadow the Hedgehog.
These movies are a lot of fun and we have enjoyed the ride watching them as they come out. I’m looking forward to number 4!
