An animated one Ghostbusters the film was announced a couple of years ago and is in development with Sony Animation, Jason Reitmann AND Gil Kenan.
Now we’ve learned that the film will be released on Netflix, which is also where the Ghostbusters animated series is being developed. This was also announced Kris Pear (Cloudy with a risk of meatballs 2) is attached to direct the film.
Previously speaking about the film, Kenan shared some information, saying that “The animated film will take us places we’ve never been before.”
“We love these characters and are so excited to push the boundaries of what we consider a Ghostbusters story. We will keep the flame burning with all of these concepts, which will continue to grow what a Ghostbusters story can be.”
Reitman added: “An animated series and an animated film will allow us to delve into the places that Dan Aykroyd first talked about Ghostbusters.”
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it will be interesting to see how the world of the Ghostbusters is explored in these animated projects.
