Sony is developing a series adaptation of Jennifer L. Armentrout fantasy books From blood and ash. This will be an ongoing series adapting the five books that have been written.
The five books include From blood and ash, A kingdom of flesh and fire, The crown of golden bones, The War of the Two QueensAND A soul of ash and blood. There’s a sixth book coming out next year called The Primordial of Blood and Bone.
The book series follows Poppy, “whose life has never been her own since she was chosen at birth to usher in a new era. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather stay with the guards, fighting the evil that has taken her family, than prepare to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice was never his.
“The future of the entire kingdom rests on Poppy’s shoulders. And when Hawke, a golden-eyed guard bound by honor to grant her Ascension, enters her life, fate and duty intertwine with desire and need.
“Poppy is not only on the verge of losing her heart and being found unworthy by the gods, but also her life, when every blood-soaked thread holding her world together begins to unravel.”
Sony Pictures hopes that this series will expand in the same way as the Outlander series and be as successful.
Outlander will end after eight seasons, but the franchise will continue with the prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood.
