Ella Purnell he has found much success with the video game adaptations he has been a part of, including Fall AND Arcane.
While both of these shows are great and Purnell gives impressive performances, she’s not entirely sure if that’s a good thing because she doesn’t want to be thought of as “the video game girl.”
Speaking to fans at MCM x EGX 2024, Purnell spoke about his place in gaming pop culture and said:
“Here’s the truth, and I feel bad saying this, but I’m not a gamer and I don’t know how I managed to get two video game adaptations that were both good. I don’t know how it happened, but it happened. I don’t know the answer .
Now, Purnell loves the roles he plays Arcane AND Fallbut the fear remains that this could lead to a pattern.
“I actually think I should stay away from video game adaptations now, because I’m going to be typecast. I’m going to be the video game girl. There are worse things than that, I guess.”
Purnell is a talented and versatile actress, and I don’t think she needs to worry about being turned into a video game girl.
She has also appeared in projects such as Yellow jackets, Invincibleand will be the protagonist of the upcoming film Sweet peawhere he plays a serial killer.
