The stunning trailer for ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN teases an adventure set in a parallel universe

FromSoftware is redefining the Elden Ring experience with The Night Realm of the Elden Ringa standalone spin-off that takes players to the eerie realm of Limveld.

Announced at The Game Awards, with a stunning trailer you can watch below, this three-player co-op adventure offers a fresh and focused spin on the epic Elden Ring franchise, offering a high-stakes survival experience that combines the work of strategic team with FromSoftware’s signature intensity.

Scheduled for release in 2025, Nocturnal kingdom It promises to be an unmissable game for fans and newcomers alike.

Set in a parallel universe to the original Elden Ring, Nocturnal kingdom transports players to Limveld, a fusion of familiar yet eerie landscapes inspired by Limgrave.

The game’s structure revolves around surviving three day and night cycles. Days are spent exploring, looting, and leveling up with friends, while nights bring the ominous “Night’s Tide,” which gradually shrinks the map, forcing battles with powerful bosses.

The final challenge? Survive long enough to face the Night Lord on the final day, earning relics that you can carry over into future quests.

Unlike the sprawling open world freedom of Elden Ring, Nocturnal kingdom offers a tighter, session-based structure designed for cooperative play. The focus is on rapid progression, collaboration, and adapting to growing challenges as you and your team face the dangers of Limveld.

The Night Realm of the Elden Ring introduces eight pre-defined character builds, each with unique abilities, weapons and endings. This approach removes the series’ traditional character creation and statistics micromanagement, optimizing gameplay to emphasize team synergy.

Whether you play as a tank, DPS, or support role, success depends on coordinating with your allies to balance your party’s strengths.

Progression is simplified but strategic. Instead of investing in individual stats, players largely level up their characters during each session, with rewards and relics unlocking significant upgrades.

Relics, earned through both victories and failures, offer permanent improvements, incentivizing players to overcome even the most punishing challenges.

The game mechanics maintain the familiar Elden Ring DNA, but introduce key changes to make it fit Nightreign cooperative focus. Movement is faster, falling damage is removed, and combat relies heavily on interaction between character builds.

FromSoftware has also customized exploration to fit the session-based format, with Sites of Grace scattered across the map offering vital opportunities to level up and regroup.

While the map-shrinking mechanic adds urgency, it also intensifies the strategic element, as players must decide how to manage resources and whether to engage enemies or flee to safer terrain.

This balance of exploration, combat and survival promises a thrilling departure from the more solitary experience of the original game.

As a standalone adventure, players do not need to own the original Elden Ring to join the fight. The game will launch on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series

The trailer below chronicles an atmospheric, action-packed journey that stays true to FromSoftware’s reputation for immersive worlds and challenging gameplay.
