Aaron Taylor-Johnson Talks Sharing the Role of Quicksilver with Evan Peters; Asks questions about Scarlet Witch

Aaron Taylor-Johnson he’s no stranger to playing superheroes. He took his career to the next level in 2010 when he played the self-made teenage vigilante Kick ass alongside his co-star, Evan Peters.

Each of the two went on separate career paths, which led them to play the character Quicksilver aka Peter Maximoff. Peters played him first in X-Men franchise film, then Taylor-Johnson made her debut and finale Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Peters reprized their role in a shocking twist WandaVisionand back inside Agata alwaysand while we have no idea what the future holds for them, the couple is happy to have a messy legacy.

During a recent interview with IMDb (via SuperHeroHype), Taylor-Johnson said that at Comic-Con, he and Peters talked about their surreal reaction to the situation. He said the two would exclaim, “Oh my God, aren’t we so lucky to be here and still be here doing what we love to do? But it’s funny that we’re in two different kinds of universes doing this.

The 34-year-old actor then praised his Kick ass co-star for his masterful portrayal of Marvel’s iconic speedster. Speaking about Peters’ portrayal of Quicksilver, Taylor-Johnson noted: “Huge admiration for what he managed to do with his character, with some things that were fantastic and worked really well.”

The interview also saw Taylor-Johnson receive a pair of action figures of her and Scarlet Witch’s character. After seeing a figurine of himself, the actor called the experience “mind-blowing” and “very overwhelming.”

Aaron Taylor-Johnson then asked an interesting question regarding Quicksilver’s fate and powers Elizabeth Olsenthe MCU character. Referring to Scarlet Witch’s reality-bending abilities, he noted, “I don’t know why she didn’t resurrect me, though.”

Quicksilver’s reign in the MCU was short, with the superhero meeting his end in his debut appearance. Since then, the actor has yet to reprise the role, but with the multiverse largely in play, anything is possible.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson will now be seen in Sony’s upcoming films Kraven the Hunterwhich hits theaters this week, December 13, 2024.
