The ARCANE season finale was originally supposed to be longer, but “some things” were cut

The co-creator of Netflix’s fantasy League of Legends animated series Arcane, Cristiano Linkerevealed that some content was cut from the show’s finale.

The initial cut of Arcane the finale lasted over an hour. Linke explained to Dexerto: “The first version came back from [animation studio] Fortiche and they said: “Guys, it lasts more than an hour.” We can’t do this.’ And we were like, “Yeah, okay.” So we kind of moved away from that point.

I’m not sure why they couldn’t do that, but when GamesRadar+ asked him what exactly was left on the cutting room floor, he said:

“How much do I want to play into the narrative that’s going on? [With] some people are unhappy that it was rushed, this will only fuel the fire. I mean, there were some things, but it was mostly the action that was brought back.

Regardless of the cuts, I think so Arcane did a great job of sticking the landing. But, as fans of the show, the more we find out about the story… the better!

In the series, the Jinx sisters (Ella Purnell) and Vi (Hailee Steinfeld) find themselves trapped on opposite sides of a conflict in the utopian city of Piltover and its poor underbelly, Zaun.

In the cities of Piltover and Zaun, “tensions rise as inventors, thugs, politicians and crime lords grow increasingly dissatisfied with the constraints of a devastated society.

“With the situation on the brink of being untenable, two sisters steal an artifact of immeasurable power. Discovery and danger collide as heroes are born and bonds are broken. Will this power change the world? Or will it lead to ruin? This is the world of Arcane.

“In the midst of growing unrest between the wealthy, utopian city of Piltover and its squalid, downtrodden underbelly of Zaun, sisters Vi and Jinx find themselves on opposite sides of a brewing conflict over conflicting beliefs and arcane technologies.”

I can’t wait to see what the next project will be!
