New trailer for DEXTER: ORIGINAL SIN – Learning the code was just the beginning

Showtime has released a new trailer for the Right prequel series Dexter: Original sin. It offers our best look at what’s in store for this series as Dexter learns and embraces his code of killing bad guys who escape justice.

It looks like it’s going to be a great show, especially for fans of the Dexter franchise. It will be fun to see how Dexter’s origin story plays out!

Michael C. Sala narrates the series, set in Miami in 1991 and follows Dexter (Patrick Gibson), “a student who hones his assassin skills with the help and support of his adoptive father Harry (Cristiano Slate).

“In his father he finds comfort and understanding, especially when his bloodlust grows and can no longer be ignored. As his only confidant, Harry teaches Dexter a code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to die, all while avoiding detection by law enforcement.

“This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensic internship with the Miami Metro Police Department.”

Hall previously spoke about the series, saying: “To some extent, I have a feeling of what’s going to happen. I spent so much time with this character and to come back and fill those fantasy gaps in this technicolor show… It’s amazing.”

Showrunner Clyde Phillips spoke about the prequel saying: “Expect what you saw before but better. Seeing these characters in their younger selves is simply amazing and the storytelling, I promise you, will be amazing, surprising and satisfying.

Executive producer Scott Reynoldshe added: “It’s a very open path. Being able to tell the story of a child who thinks he’s worthless and a dad who says he’s worthless is a beautiful thing.”

The cast of the series also includes Patrick Dempsey, Molly Brown, James Martinez, Cristina Milian, Alex Shimizu, Reno Wilson and special guest star Sarah Michelle Gellar. Hall will voice the internal monologue in Dexter’s head throughout the show.

The series will premiere on December 15.
