Marvel has released a new photo from their series Iron heartwith the character of Riri Williams, played by Dominique Thornewho we first saw in the role Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022).
In the photo, she is depicted with her iron armor in the background. The show wrapped filming two years ago and fans have been wondering when it would finally wrap, but with a 2025 release date around the corner, let’s hope the VFX team is simply perfecting the finishing touches.
Marvel Television’s Brad Winderbaum recently talked about the costume and the series, saying, “It’s a completely practical costume. Obviously it doesn’t do all the crazy things that the costume does, but we used a lot of techniques that date back to the first movie. from Iron Man, where we actually had a practical costume on set.
“First of all, just as a visual reference for the CG artists who had the actual suit there, even though it had to do CG stuff and open and close and stuff like that. It had all the lighting references perfect, so the emulation is perfect. It’s fantastic. I mean, I’m sure it’ll be in the Marvel lobby in a few months.”
As for what fans can expect, Winderbaum said Riri has a “Tony Stark-sized ego” and is in “a bit of a quarter-life crisis.” He explained: “He fought in Wakanda, he fought Namor, he had this great adventure. But the daily struggle is still real.
“This is Riri Williams. She will do what she has to do to move forward for herself, her family and everyone else. And that leads her down some paths.”
Set after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda ForeverMarvel Television Iron heart pits technology against magic when Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), a brilliant young inventor determined to make her mark on the world, returns to her hometown of Chicago.
Her unique approach to building iron armor is brilliant, but in pursuing her ambitions, she finds herself entangled with the mysterious but charming Parker Robbins aka “The Hood” (Antonio Ramos).
The series is also the protagonist Ross lyrical, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam AND Anji White. Chinaka Hodge he is head writer and executive producer; the episodes are directed by Sam Bailey AND Angela Barnes.
Iron heart will debut on Disney+ on June 24, 2025.
