Disney has released the first trailer for Pixar’s next sci-fi film Heliumwhich will take audiences on a wild, out-of-this-world adventure. The film follows a boy who is abducted by aliens and mistaken for the leader of Earth.
The synopsis reads: “A space fanatic with an active imagination and a huge obsession with aliens, Elio is ready for an epic quest when he is teleported to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives of galaxies in every part of the world .
“When Elio is mistakenly identified as Earth’s leader, he must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, face a crisis of intergalactic proportions, and somehow discover who and where he is truly meant to be.”
It looks like the film will tell a fun, light-hearted story with lots of quirky, silly and colorful characters. Definitely a film that children will like!
Yonas Kibreab (Obi-Won Kenobi) takes on the role of the boy and is joined by him America Ferrera as Olga, his mother. She is described as “Super confident, intelligent and able to hold her own in any situation”. Also includes the voice cast Jameela Jamil AND Brad Garrett .
Helium was directed by Adriano Molina (writer and co-director of Coconut) and produced by Mary Alice Drumm (associate producer of Coconut).
Helium will be released in theaters on March 1, 2024.
