FX has released a new teaser trailer for Noah Hawleythe highly anticipated Alien series Alien: Earthand comes with the slogan “In 2120 Mother Earth is waiting.”
In the series: “When a mysterious spaceship crashes to Earth, a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face to face with the greatest threat on the planet.
“As members of the crash recovery team search the wreckage for survivors, they encounter mysterious predatory life forms more terrifying than they could have ever imagined.
“With this new threat unlocked, the research team must fight for survival, and what they choose to do with this discovery could change planet Earth as they know it.”
The story is set three decades before the events of Ridley Scott’s Classic from 1979 Alien and a few years before Prometheus. The series will find the characters “caught in conflict with the onset of artificial intelligence and the competition between developers and users.”
Hawley previously said of the story: “It’s set on future Earth. Right now, I describe it as Edison versus Westinghouse versus Tesla. Someone’s going to monopolize the electricity. We just don’t know which one it is.”
He continued: “In the films we have this Weyland-Yutani Corporation, which is clearly also developing artificial intelligence, but what if there were other companies trying to look at immortality in a different way, with cyborg enhancements or transhuman downloads? Which of these technologies will win?”
This series will combine “the timeless horror of the first Alien film with the non-stop action of the second, it will be a frightening thrill ride that will make people fall back on their seats.”
Hawley also said, “There’s something special about seeing a Xenomorph in the wilds of Earth with your own eyes. It’s truly chilling to think of him moving here among us, and so I can’t tell you under what circumstances you will see him, but you will see him – and you will lock the door that night.
He added: “What was really fun for me was really interacting with the creature, bringing some of my own thoughts into the design without touching the silhouette, because that’s sacrosanct.
“But some of the elements we know, whatever the host, inform what the final creature will be. I just wanted to play around a bit to make it as scary as it should be.”
The show is also the protagonist Alex Lawther (The end of the fucking world) in the role of the male protagonist, a soldier named CJ, with Samuel Blenkin (Black mirror) as another main character called Boy Kavalier, a CEO. Other cast members include Essie Davis (Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries) in the role of Lady Silvia, Timothy OlyphantAND Adarsh Gourav (The White Tiger) like Slightly.
Alien: Earth will be released in 2025.
