There are only a few weeks left until the next series Star Wars: The Skeleton Crewwhich is headed to Disney+. The series was created by Jon Watts (Spider-Man), and follows the journey of four boys “who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet.
Then they get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy, meeting the likes of Jod Na Nawood, the mysterious character played by Jude Law.
Finding their way home and encountering unlikely allies and enemies will be an adventure greater than they ever imagined.”
The director of the show, David Lowerymet with ComicBook to promote his upcoming animated short An almost Christmas storyand was asked how he thinks fans will react to the Star Wars series, as well as what makes it unique. He replied:
“It’s a show that involves children, and yes, it will be very attractive to kids who can relate to it. But as a kid I aspired to be Luke Skywalker and Han Solo… I didn’t need a show about kids to make me love them Star Wars. But what I think this will do is remind adults like me what it was like to be a child watching Star Wars for the first time.”
From the beginning, Skeleton crew has been compared to classic Amblin Entertainment productions such as ET: the extraterrestrial AND The Gooniestapping into that sense of 80s nostalgia that many fans have. It was a key focus of the marketing campaign, as was clear from the trailer released earlier this month.
The series will debut on Disney+ on December 3, 2024, with the first two episodes.
