Idris Elba (The suicide squad, Luthor) will be the protagonist of the new action thriller Hammer downwhich is produced by Carlo Roven (Oppenheimer, The Dark Knight Trilogy) AND Madison Weiter (Justice League) are producing for Atlas Entertainment, together with Elba (Luther: the fallen son) AND Gina Carter (Look how they run).
The synopsis reads: “Mac (Elba) is the best at what he does, driving a big truck across the country with a ‘no questions asked’ policy regarding the goods he hauls.
“When he takes his tenacious teenage daughter with him on a job, they are tracked down and attacked by a relentless group of criminals who will stop at nothing to secure the shipment they are entrusted to deliver.
“Pursed by ruthless killers and with the police hot on their trail, Mac and his daughter must work together to prevent the cargo from falling into dangerous hands and survive to live another day.”
The film will be directed by Simone Hattformer assistant to James Gunn who later served as co-producer Suicide squad and executive producer Guardians of the Galaxy. He also wrote the screenplay based on his short film.
