The showrunner of Netflix’s incredible animated series Arcane, Cristiano Linkerecently talked about the spin-off projects that have been in development and what we can expect from them.
Even though Arcane’s story will end with Season 2, there are many more stories they want to tell with different characters and different regions of the League of Legends world.
During an interview with CB, Linke explained that they will all be very different from each other. He said: “We are working on a number of new fallout projects. We want to tell more stories in different regions, for different characters.
“And those will be very, very different from each other. Some of them will be more whimsical, others more serious and dark. Arcane is just the first step in a much, much bigger narrative dream.”
He continued, “Personally, I think in terms of storytelling we haven’t done enough with the quirky angle of our IP. And I definitely have goals to do something bigger there.
“Again, there are a lot of projects we are exploring but on a personal level we haven’t done enough for our audience in that particular key. I’m very excited to do more there.”
So it looks like one thing we’ll definitely see is a “wacky” series, which would be a lot of fun! It will be interesting to know what exactly he is thinking about this.
I just want to see them continue to tell great stories set in this fascinating sci-fi fantasy world that they created with League of Legends.
I imagine a new project will be announced after Acrane closes. The second season of Arcane will return to Netflix later this week, November 9, with its first three episodes.
